October 10, 2007 is a day that I’ll forever remember. As the temperature fell and the sun sank behind the tall pine trees in the distance, I sat behind closed doors in my office and took those pivotal first steps to becoming an entrepreneur. I began my journey.

The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step.

A while back I wrote an article about the poor experience that I had with the PAOpenForBusiness site. Well, I decided to give it another try. Once I got over the fact that I was using Windows on my Macbook Pro again, I found the registration to be fairly straight forward. After roughly 15 minutes I was ready to click submit and make everything official. It all went so fast, I thought. That was easy. Surely there has to be something that I’m missing. But there wasn’t. Here I was dreading the process and it took less time that it takes to do the dishes.

October 10 is the day that the Schultz Media Network was born. A Limited Liability Corporation, the Schultz Media Network, will become the parent company for all things developed by me for the Internet. Mao Tse-Tung once said “A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step”, and I just took mine. However, it looks as though things are getting started at more of a running pace then a crawl. In the past couple of days I have already begun receiving inquiries into web design opportunities, and started development of some user-centered communities that I’ve been wanting to work on for quite some time. So far, so good!

Things are going to start picking up around here, and if you haven’t yet, please sign up to my RSS and join me on my journey.
