Blogging is a time consuming hobby and/or profession and constantly generating new discussion topics can sometimes prove to be very challenging. Sometimes the lack of a new idea can lead to your blog falling silent for a couple of days or you end up becoming a lemming and talk about what the rest of the Internet is talking about. I prefer to do the former and follow the rule of “If I don’t have anything to say, then I won’t say anything at all”. It’s worked out so far, but I have always wanted a way for you, the reader, to speak up and say what you would like me to write about.

Skribit: Giving Your Readers A Voice

skribit

That’s why I was pleased to learn about a new widget that allows you to suggest topics directly to me. Skribit, the brainchild of Paul Stamatiou, was developed by the entrepreneurial members of Startup Weekend Atlanta and released a little over a month ago as a BETA program for public consumption.

The concept is fairly straightforward. Sign up for an account here, place the widget on the sidebar of your blog, and instantly your readers can suggest blogging topics directly on your website. I always thought that blogs that disabled commenting were fairly pointless. To me, the point of blogging is user interaction. Sure, everyone wants to have a soapbox that they can occasionally stand up on and shout to the masses, but what fun is it if the masses can’t shout back?

Thanks to skribit, you know have a hand in suggesting what you would like me to write about. So go ahead, leave a suggestion and take the rudder of Truebluetitan for a while. Pick my brain. Challenge me. Let’s take this blog to the next step together!
