A big part of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is optimizing for a specific keyword set (i.e. What keywords do you want your site to rank highly for in Search Engines?). When I was performing keyword research for Truebluetitan.com, one phrase stuck out above the rest: Internet Entrepreneur. It generated a decent amount of traffic and really fit with the new direction of this site.

Breaking Into The Top 5 In Google

Today, about 4 months after I began optimizing, Truebluetitan has broken into the top 5 sites for “Internet Entrepreneur” in Google. This is a fairly great achievement, especially considering the other sites out there volleying for the top position. Among them are Tyler Cruz (more on him in my next post) and Yaro Starak, two highly respected people in the community.

Google seems to change their algorithm daily so the victory dance may be bittersweet, as I know of people who’s site was ranked #1 in Google one day, only to seemingly vanish from the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) the next day.

Other Search Engines

60% of all Internet users using Search Engines use Google, so you can see why it’s important to me to be #1, however, a large portion of Internet users rely on Yahoo, MSN Live, and ASK.com as well. So it’s also important to not just focus on the almighty Google. Here is how Truebluetitan.com is doing within each of these engines: Yahoo (ranked #2), MSN Live (ranked #8), ASK.com (ranked #21).
