On September 18, Dr. Randy Pausch gave a farewell lecture to his students and others in a packed Carnegie Mellon University auditorium. While I did not have the honor of attending Dr. Pausch’s final lecture, I was inspired by his words and can proudly say that I now have another role model in life.
You’ve spent hours on your website design. You’ve become intimately familiar with every line of code, and navigating the site design has become second nature to you. The sun peaks through the windshield of my car every morning as I begin my long commute to work. Every evening the sun waves goodnight through my rearview mirror as I leave the office building. I work over 40 hours a week. Unfortunately, this is not incredibly uncommon to those in the American workforce. What I find even more bothersome is that too many Americans wear this as a badge of honor, a sign of success amongst their peers. If you are like me and would prefer a different path then read on.
